Jennifer Shook (Artistic Director) has directed nine Caffeine productions since the theatre's founding five years ago.  She is also an Illinois Humanities Council Road Scholar, traveling the state speaking about Abe Lincoln in popular culture and American theatre.  She holds degrees from the University of Chicago, Swarthmore College, and University College Galway, and has taught at The Theatre School at DePaul University and at Columbia College.   As a dramaturg or director, she has worked with the Goodman Theatre, The Hypocrites, Steppenwolf,  TimeLine Theatre, Silk Road Theatre Project, Eclipse Theatre, Estrogen Fest, Collaboraction, Circle Theatre, Dallas Theater Center, Court Theatre, Rivendell Theatre Ensemble, and the San Francisco Mime Troupe, among others.  She is a proud member of the Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas, and an alum of La MaMa Theatre's International Directors Symposium.
